Special Education Students SEE the Light
 
For students participating in special education classes during the school year, Goodwill's Summer Education Experience (SEE) offers a five-week learning opportunity that furthers work skills. Following an immersive Van Gogh experience, the class learned to paint in the style of the artist. They also enjoyed a behind-the-scenes tour of Cirque du Soleil's "O" at Bellagio. The final two weeks of the program will focus on real-life work skills at a Goodwill store.
 

Goodwill supported Nakisha's pursuit of a stable career.

Ever since being laid off during the pandemic, Nakisha had been unable to find suitable employment. Seeking a stable career, Nakisha came to Goodwill seeking assistance with vocational training. Nakisha’s Goodwill career coach helped her secure a grant for training at the Las Vegas Institute of Welding, which led to full-time employment as a welder with a company that creates structures and backgrounds for shows and concerts. Goodwill Training Sprint Fast-Tracks IT Careers 

Through a generous Google Grant, Goodwill Career Services opens the door for aspiring IT professionals to quickly enter the field. The Goodwill IT Professional Training Program participants gain skills to help them break into jobs in the fast-growing field in a Level 1 Helpdesk or Entry Level IT role. Learn more about the program.
 

Goodwill Welcomes Two New Board Members.

We are pleased to announce the addition of two new board members: Rob Arnal, vice president and commercial banker with The Commercial Bank of JPMorgan Chase for Southern Nevada, and Keyona Cole, chief nursing officer for Intermountain Health’s Desert Region.
