Goodwill of Southern Nevada Spreads Mid-Year Cheer with Fourth Annual Christmas in July Family Shopping Spree
Mid-year shopping experience welcomed 100 children served by three local nonprofits
LAS VEGAS, Nev. (July 12, 2024) – Goodwill of Southern Nevada (Goodwill®), along with the North Las Vegas Fire Department and North Las Vegas Police Department, held their fourth annual Christmas in July Family Shopping Spree at the Goodwill Lake Mead Thrift Store in North Las Vegas. Kids and families served by Children’s Advocacy Alliance, Foster Kinship, and FEAT Families for Effective Autism Treatment each received a $100 Goodwill gift card for their mid-year holiday-themed shopping experience.
“This event was first created to support our community during the middle of the pandemic,” said Rick Neal, president and CEO of Goodwill of Southern Nevada. “Since then, thousands of families continue to rely on Goodwill to help make ends meet. This tradition is our way of inviting our community to join us in giving a hand up to our neighbors. Just as we are bringing holiday cheer to scores of North Las Vegas kids and families, folks throughout the Las Vegas Valley make a difference every single day by donating to Goodwill.”
One hundred children were paired with North Las Vegas first responders to serve as their shopping partners. Santa Claus arrived in a fire engine to greet children, where North Las Vegas Mayor Pro Tem Scott Black and Councilman Isaac Barron welcomed their constituents and kicked off the shopping spree.
