John Stoddard

Chief Operations Officer

John Stoddard is the Chief Operations Officer at Goodwill of Southern Nevada (GSN). Having spent 20 years helping to build Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona (GWAZ) into a major success, John Stoddard brings his knowledge, best practice strategies, and strengths in service of GSN’s mission.

When John accepted his first role at GWAZ as a store manager, he anticipated it would be a stepping stone job. Thankfully, for Goodwill the job was a stepping stone to bigger and better things within Goodwill. John’s innovative strategic mind led him down a 20-year path as a District Director, Senior District Director, and Vice President of Retail Operations. Over John’s 20 years, GWAZ’s revenue increased nearly 90 percent on average and climbed from the 154th ranked Goodwill to the third ranked Goodwill nationally. As Vice President of Retail Operation John oversaw all aspects of GWAZ’s 70 plus retail stores, operations, real estate sites, partner with Marketing, Information Technology, and Mission. John attributes his success at GWAZ to his ability to build a strong team to help drive efficiency, develop standards, hold people accountable while learning from their mistakes, and his desire to never stop innovating and optimizing the business.

John left GWAZ in 2017 to accept a role as Vice President of Retail Operations with Goodwill of Southern New England in New Haven Connecticut. With a strong desire to return to the West Coast to be close to his family, John made the decision to join GSN, where he oversees all facets of the donated goods retail operations, the success of which is a key driver of the organization’s community impact.

When John is not working, he enjoys spending time with his six boys and his English Bulldog. John enjoys playing guitar and has moonlighted as a wedding singer which is a skill that could keep him very busy living in Las Vegas.
