Director of Disability & Volunteer Programming
Mary Brabant is the Director of Disability & Volunteer Programming at Goodwill of Southern Nevada. In her role, Mary oversees all aspects of Goodwill’s programs of service designed for people with disabilities and community service workers.
Since joining Goodwill of Southern Nevada more than 25 years ago, Mary has made seminal contributions toward establishing Goodwill’s regional presence and impact. For more than 25 years, Mary has pioneered Goodwill of Southern Nevada’s renowned disabilities programs: Community Based Training (CBT), Skills To Enable Personal Success (STEPS), Student Work Experience Program (SWEP), and the Work Readiness Summer Program. In addition, Mary served as the organization’s Director of Human Resources for her first 20 years, during which she served as Director of HR and Workforce for three years.
Mary’s expertise inspired the Governor to appoint her to serve two terms on the Nevada State Rehabilitation Commission. In recognition of her contributions and accomplishments, Mary received the 2002 President’s Award and 2009 Edgar J. Helms Award. She also graduated from the Goodwill Industries International Leadership Institute’s renowned Senior Leader Program.
Prior to joining Goodwill, Mary was employed at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville as well as the office of U.S. Senator Gary Hart, where she specialized in family and child welfare issues.
Mary earned a Bachelor of Science in Education and Master of Science in Geriatric Counseling and Program Administration at Memphis State University (now the University of Memphis).
When she is not serving the Goodwill mission, Mary dedicates herself to spending time with her twin grandsons, rooting for the Vegas Golden Knights, showering attention on her two basset hounds, and creative projects ranging from clay and painting to photography and gardening.
