KPMG Volunteers Donate Clothing, Time, and Talent
at Goodwill Flagship Store
On August 1, the Goodwill Las Vegas Blvd Store hosted 25 volunteers participating in KPMG's second annual nationwide Community Impact Day. After donating four racks of professional clothing, KPMG's spirited team learned about the lifecycle of donations, toured the store’s backroom operations, and performed merchandising and processing tasks to position donated goods for sale, which in turn support Goodwill’s programs of service.

Goodwill set the stage for Chris's new career.
Unemployed and homeless, Chris took the initiative to learn about Goodwill’s free career services. A career coach helped him enroll in our Stagehand Training program, which within two weeks led to work in the events and entertainment industry. Nevada Women’s Philanthropy Presents
2023 NWP Founders Gift to Goodwill
Goodwill of Southern Nevada Board Chair Brian Dziminski and President & CEO Rick Neal welcomed Nevada Women’s Philanthropy (NWP) Incoming President Becky MacDonald, President Dawn Mack, and Grant Monitor Wendy Hornbuckle, who presented the 2023 NWP Founders Gift. The unrestricted funds will be used to expand Goodwill's accelerated training programs to meet local employers' hiring needs in healthcare, skilled trades, and other in-demand industries.

Job seekers visiting the Goodwill Career Center at The Boulevard Mall have the pleasure of walking through our fully refreshed thrift store. The store location housing the Goodwill Career Center at Rainbow Plaza is next in line for a refresh, with work expected to be completed in Q1 2024.

On August 19, Goodwill of Southern Nevada was honored with Nevada Action Coalition’s Tyrone Thompson Community Partner Award at the Future of Nursing in Nevada Awards Gala. The award acknowledged Goodwill's impactful partnership with NV Hope on a CNA Training program that helps meet the region's acute shortage of healthcare workers.
