Studio 5 Live Spotlights Goodwill Career Services

Chief Mission Services Officer Kam Green and Certified Nursing Assistant Andrae Robinson informed FOX5 Studio 5 Live viewers about Goodwill's accelerated train-to-hire programs, which meet local employers' hiring needs for healthcare, stagehand, and other skilled workers. We are pleased to announce Chief Mission Services Officer Kam Green was recently promoted to lead Goodwill's programs of service, including career services, train-to-hire programs, veteran services, and disability programs. Her team of more than 30 workforce development professionals enable job seekers to overcome barriers inhibiting them from meaningful employment and a thriving career. 

Goodwill Hosts Day of Caring Volunteers at
at Las Vegas Blvd Flagship Store

 
On September 22, Goodwill team members and local volunteers came together to support United Way of Southern Nevada's Day of Caring 2023. The eighth annual one-day community-wide volunteer event brought together hundreds of volunteers with nonprofits that need their help.
 

Goodwill prepared Danika for meaningful employment

When she first came to Goodwill, Danika, a single mother with a disability, was unemployed and homeless following an eviction. Through two work assessment training stints, she and her Goodwill trainer were committed to affirming her readiness for employment. Extensive one-on-one support helped Danika pass her assessment, preparing her to enter the job market—and support her son—with confidence. Read her story.

We're in the home stretch on construction of Goodwill of Southern Nevada's eighteenth thrift store location! The Goodwill Blue Diamond store, just west of Lindell between Jones and Decatur, will employ approximately 40 team members.
 
Goodwill debuted a new look for our attended donation centers at the two southernmost locations: Anthem Sun City & Bicentennial and Southern Highlands & Cactus.

Junior League Volunteers Go with the Flow of Donated Goods at Las Vegas Blvd Store
 
Over the past year, Junior League of Las Vegas members have volunteered their time at multiple Goodwill stores. The group learned about the lifecycle of donations before working alongside team members to help position donated goods for sale, which in turn fund Goodwill's programs of service.
