Mother of Three Forges Ahead in Healthcare
A mother of three children, Jasmine was struggling with depression and living paycheck to paycheck. She resolved to establish a stable career that would give her a sense of purpose and allow her to support her family. Many of the training programs that interested her were prohibitively expensive, but through her research she discovered Goodwill’s 90-day Medical Assistant (MA) Education Program and immediately enrolled. “This opportunity was nothing short of a miracle,” she recalls, “and I was determined not to let it slip away.”
Upon completing the program, Jasmine secured employment at a leading health provider—a “tremendous achievement” that enabled her to provide for her family. “This financial stability has granted me the freedom to pursue my aspirations with renewed vigor,” she says. She plans to continue her education and become a clinical social worker, with a particular interest in helping young pregnant women. “The thought of being able to give back and advocate for those in need resonates deeply within me.”
“Through the connections, skills, and opportunities I have gained at Goodwill,” she adds, “I am equipped to forge ahead with confidence and positively impact the lives of others.”
Jasmine has also realized that her newly empowered attitude is contagious. “My experience at Goodwill inspired my family to strive for greater things,” she says. “Through my time with Goodwill, I have gained a renewed sense of confidence and strength, which my family has witnessed firsthand.”
Goodwill empowered Jasmine to transform her life.
