Goodwill of Southern Nevada Welcomes New Chief Mission Services Officer
North Carolina Native Liz Romero Has Been with Goodwill Industries for Over a Decade
LAS VEGAS, Nev. (Feb. 10, 2025) – Goodwill of Southern Nevada (Goodwill®) is proud to announce the arrival of Liz Romero as chief mission services officer. In this role, Romero oversees the organization’s wide range of career services for Southern Nevadans seeking to obtain local employment and thriving careers with upward mobility.
Romero comes to Las Vegas from Charlotte-based Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont. Through her leadership, her team expanded their outreach to untapped North and South Carolina counties in their 18-county service area. Growth driven by enhanced service delivery and expanded training offerings necessitated the relocation of a career and training center to a new facility with double the square footage. Romero started her journey with Goodwill in 2014, at Goodwill Industries of Northwest North Carolina (NWNC) in Asheville, after working in the mental health field and foster care system, where she made a meaningful impact on countless lives.
“Liz’s experience will be invaluable as we expand the reach and impact of our programs in concert with our region’s growth,” said Rick Neal, president and CEO of Goodwill of Southern Nevada. “I’m confident that under Liz’s leadership, Goodwill will meet our strategic plan’s goals for increasing by at least one thousand the number of individuals served annually through personalized career coaching, job placement, and accelerated career training programs.”
Liz earned an MBA with a concentration in Social Entrepreneurship from Lenoir Rhyne University as well as BAs in Psychology and Art Therapy from Mars Hill University. She is a Certified Career Coach and has a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Duke University.
In her spare time, Liz enjoys hiking, practicing yoga, reading, going to concerts, and traveling.
