Goodwill of Southern Nevada Thrift Stores to Support Las Vegas Fashion Council in March

Care-to-Care nonprofit fundraising program invites Goodwill customers to support local causes

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (February 25, 2025) – Goodwill of Southern Nevada’s (Goodwill®) yearlong 50th anniversary celebration continues with a March fundraising campaign that will raise up to $10,000, and no less than $5,000, for the Las Vegas Fashion Council (LVFC), a nonprofit devoted to advancing the Las Vegas fashion industry and diversifying our local economy.

The in-store fundraising effort is part of the Goodwill Care-to-Care Nonprofit Fundraising Partnerships program, which invites Goodwill thrift store customers to contribute a dollar or more at checkout to support both Goodwill training scholarships and a monthly local nonprofit organization.

“Goodwill is proud to offer career services, sustainability, and style to our community,” said Goodwill of Southern Nevada President and CEO Rick Neal. “Through our partnership with the Las Vegas Fashion Council, our customers will help our local fashion industry grow as both a creative and economic force.”

“We are thankful to Goodwill for supporting the Las Vegas Fashion Council,” said LVFC Founder and Executive Director Carrie Carter Cooper. “Funds raised at Goodwill stores will help us empower students, emerging designers, and artists through scholarships, mentorship, and platforms to showcase their talents.” LVFC presentations and programs have engaged over 1,000 students, emerging designers, and fashion industry professionals. In addition, the nonprofit has awarded 36 scholarships to local fashion students to support their careers in the industry.

Goodwill thrift store customers can contribute to Goodwill and Las Vegas Fashion Council programs of service by donating a dollar or more during checkout.
