Woman Rebuilds Career After Serious Accident
After being injured in a motor vehicle accident, 76-year-old Jacqueline was unsure of what the future held for her. Eager to return to the workforce, she was referred by VR Nevada to Goodwill’s Community Based Training (CBT) program.
At Goodwill, Jacqueline, who has multiple disabilities, participated in a 10-day assessment to gauge her readiness for employment and learn the necessary skills for a retail career. Though the accident left her with chronic pain and limited mobility on her left side, she successfully completed her training on account of her determination and resilience.
Having mastered such skills as stocking and distributing merchandise, Jaqueline came away from the CBT program highly recommended for job placement. She is excited to embark on a career that allows her to support and connect with other people living with disabilities.
Goodwill led Jacqueline to a career rebirth.
